BREAKING: Facebook: Hackers Accessed 29 M Accounts, Fewer than Thought❗*

Facebook says hackers accessed data from 29 million accounts as part of the security breach disclosed two weeks ago, fewer than the 50 million it initially believed were affected.

The hackers accessed name, email addresses or phone numbers from these accounts, according to Facebook. For 14 million of them, hackers got even more data, such as hometown, birthdate, the last 10 places they checked into or the 15 most recent searches.

An additional 1 million accounts were affected, but hackers didn't get any information from them.

Facebook isn't giving a breakdown of where these users are, but says the breach was "fairly broad." It plans to send messages to people whose accounts were hacked.

Facebook said third-party apps and Facebook apps like WhatsApp and Instagram were unaffected by the breach.

Facebook said the FBI is investigating, but asked the company not to discuss who may be behind the attack. The company said it hasn't ruled out the possibility of smaller-scale attacks that used the same vulnerability.

Melania Trump Says Women 'Need Evidence' 😱 if They Say They're Victims❗*

*

First lady Melania Trump said victims who make accusations of sexual misconduct "need to have really hard evidence" in a recently taped interview, echoing a statement she made in October 2016 amid allegations against her husband.

"If you accuse (someone) of something, show the evidence," Trump said in a sit-down interview with ABC News that took place in Kenya last week during her first major solo trip to Africa.
Trump also said she supports women, but she echoed her husband, President Donald Trump, adding that men need to be supported, too.
"I support the women and they need to be heard," said Trump. "We need to support them and, you know, also men, not just women."
She added that women who come forward as victims should be prepared to back up their claims.

*Visually Impaired Man Removed from Shop Because of Guide Dog π ͺ

Video of a visually impaired man and his dog being ejected from a supermarket have caused a social media stir in France.

Arthur Aumoite posted video online of his shopping trip to a Monoprix outlet in Marseille with his guide dog, Loya.

The footage shows a staff member telling him that he and his dog must leave for "hygiene reasons".

After several minutes, one staff member can be seen pushing Mr Aumoite towards the door while a security worker seizes the handle of Loya's brace and pulls the guide dog away from Mr Aumoite and out of the shop.

The French guide dog association ANMCGA said Mr Aumoite asked them to help broadcast the video, which has since been viewed more than one million times on Mr Aumoite's Facebook page alone.

USA πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ Today Criticized 😠 for Printing Trump Op-Ed 😠 Despite Alleged Inaccuracies*

*

USA Today is under fire for publishing an op-ed from President Donald Trump on the Democratic party's efforts to push for "Medicare for All" that many allege contains factual inaccuracies.

The op-ed, published Wednesday morning, claims that the Democratic plan would hurt seniors and effectively eliminate the Medicare program, which provides health care to Americans older than 65 and those with disabilities, among other dubious statements.

"USA Today not only published a White House press release disguised as an 'op-ed by Donald Trump,' it is using its Twitter account to blast out the article’s lies to 3.6 million followers," tweeted Daniel Dale, Washington correspondent for The Toronto Star.

"Publishing this op-ed is journalistic malpractice," tweeted journalism professor Dan Gillmor. "It is full of outright lies, easily demonstrated lies. Disgraceful."

Requests for comment emailed to USA Today's standards editor and to the White House were not immediately returned.

*Pope ⛪ Compares Having an Abortion to Hiring a Hitman 😱* Pope Francis compared abortion to hiring a "hitman to solve a problem" during his weekly general audience Wednesday in St. Peter's Square at the Vatican. "But how can an act that suppresses innocent and defenseless budding human life be therapeutic, civil or simply human?" the pontiff said. He asked if it was right "to do away with a human life to solve a problem," adding: "Is it right to hire a hitman to solve a problem? One cannot do this, it is not right to do away with a human being, albeit small, to solve a problem." t's not the first time the Pope has spoken out on abortion, a practice that goes against the traditional teachings of the Roman Catholic Church. In June, he compared having an abortion to avoid birth defects to the Nazi-era idea of trying to create a pure race. *Jehovah's Witnesses Detained πŸšͺ 'For Extremism' in Russia πŸ‡·

🇺*

Five members of the Jehovah's Witness religious group have been detained in Russia on weapons and extremism charges, investigators say.

Investigators say a "large quantity of extremist literature" was found during their searches, as well as two hand grenades and a landmine.

"They had been conducting meetings and called on others to join their organisation," Yevgenia Vorozhtsova, a spokeswoman for regional investigators told AFP news agency.

Yaroslav Sivulskiy, a member of the European Association of Jehovah's Christian Witnesses, told the news agency that this is the first time members of the group had been accused of having weapons.

Dozens have been reportedly detained in recent months, and Finland has said hundreds of Jehovah's Witnesses have applied for asylum there since the crackdown intensified.
