*Women's World Cup🏆: France🇫🇷 Starts By Thrashing Korea

Wendie Renard scored two headers as France opened the Women's World Cup with a one-sided 4-0 defeat of South Korea.

Eugenie Le Sommer's 11th goal in her last 11 appearances for France in all competitions gave the tournament hosts an early lead in Paris.

Before half-time a pair of towering Renard headers made it 3-0 to Corinne Diacre's side, who are among the favourites to win the tournament, allowing them to ease off after the interval.

But with six minutes to go France wrapped things up in superb style, Amandine Henry scoring from outside the penalty area to send a strong message to their World Cup rivals.

*Man Utd♦ Offer New Contract to Juan Mata📝*

Manchester United have offered a new deal to Juan Mata as Ander Herrera and Antonio Valencia head the list of players leaving the club.

Mata, who joined from Chelsea in January 2014, has been linked with a free transfer abroad.

But the former Valencia and Chelsea midfielder has been handed the chance to sign fresh terms by United, meaning he could yet extend his time at Old Trafford.

James Wilson and Regan Poole, who have both previously played first-team football, are among those to be departing United after spending the 2018-19 campaign out on loan.

And United have officially said goodbye to Herrera and club captain Valencia following the expiration of their contracts.

Also leaving are DJ Buffonge, Tyrell Warren, Matty Willock, Callum Whelan, James Thompson, Thomas Sang, Zak Dearnley, Matthew Olosunde, Callum Gribbin, Millen Baars and Joshua Bohui.

*Ramos Sets New Record in 🇪🇸Spain's Win Over Faroe Islands

Sergio Ramos has set a new international record in Spain's 4-1 victory over the Faroe Islands in Friday's European Championship qualifying clash.

The Real Madrid defender went into the game tied with former Spain and Blancos team-mate Iker Casillas in international wins, with 121 since making his debut for the Roja back in 2005.

And with Friday's victory he now sits out on his own with 122 victories in 164 appearances, setting a new benchmark in the history of international football.

Ramos himself set Spain on the way to victory, opening the scoring with a goal after just five minutes.

Jesus Navas widened the visitors' advantage to two goals shortly after, although the Faroes did hit back with their own strike on the half hour.

Any hopes of a famous upset, however, were short-lived. Teitur Gestsson netted past his own keeper to restore Spain's two-goal lead before Jose Gaya swooped for his side's fourth of the evening.

Friday's win is Spain's fourth consecutive international victory, having previously dispatched Bosnia & Herzegovina, Norway and Malta in successive outings.

*Eden Hazard⚡ Completes €100m Move to Real Madrid👑*

Chelsea star Eden Hazard has completed a move Real Madrid in a deal worth €100 million (£88m/$112m), and signed a contract through June 30, 2024, the La Liga club have announced.

It was reported the deal is worth a minimum €100m, but can rise to €140m (£124m/$146m) with incentives.

The club announced Hazard will be presented as a Madrid player on June 13.

The Blancos sent representatives to London earlier this week to meet with Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia, and Hazard has now officially made the move to Madrid after seven seasons at Chelsea.

With his contract at Stamford Bridge expiring at the end of the 2019-20 season and no progress made on an extension, Chelsea have accepted the need to cash in on their Belgian superstar this summer rather than let him walk for free.

*Suarez on Target🎯 as Uruguay Beat Panama

Luis Suarez marked his return from a knee injury with a brilliant goal in Uruguay's 3-0 win over Panama in an international friendly on Friday.

Suarez underwent knee surgery after Barcelona's Champions League exit last month and his return was a welcome sight for Uruguay ahead of the Copa America.

The star forward came on for the final half-hour in Montevideo, where he struck with a free-kick six minutes after being introduced to add to Maxi Gomez's first-half header.

Another substitute, Real Madrid midfielder Federico Valverde, sealed Uruguay's win with a fine strike.

Edinson Cavani also came off the bench for Uruguay, who open their Copa America campaign against Ecuador on June 16.

Chelsea Will Allow Sarri to Leave✈

*

Maurizio Sarri will be allowed to leave Chelsea next week and become Juventus manager, as per reports.

Sarri has told Chelsea he wants to return to Italy after one season in England and the club have said they will not stand in his way.

The 60-year-old has one year left on his contract - with the option of another year - but never felt comfortable living and working in England and was frustrated he did not have a close relationship with the decision-makers at Chelsea.

Chelsea had no plans to sack Sarri this summer but they do not want to keep someone who is unhappy.

*Messi💫 Hits Brace as Argentina🇦🇷 Demolish Nicaragua

Lionel Messi was the hero again as Argentina wrapped up their Copa America preparations with a 5-1 rout of minnows Nicaragua.

Messi scored two goals in two minutes to lead Argentina past Nicaragua on Friday before Lionel Scaloni's men fly out to Brazil for the Copa America.

Having ended his international absence in March's shock loss to Venezuela, Messi opened the scoring with a stunning solo effort in

After dancing his way past three defenders for the opener, Messi rebounded a Sergio Aguero shot just seconds later to take his international tally to 67 goals.

Lautaro Martinez came off the bench and scored a second-half brace against the Central American visitors, while Roberto Pereyra added a fifth late on before Nicaragua's Juan Barrera converted a 91st-minute penalty to put a blemish on Argentina's performance.

Real Madrid Agree Hazard Fee With Chelsea

Eden Hazard is set to join Real Madrid after the Spanish club and Chelsea agreed a fee in the region of €100m (£88.5m) plus add-ons.

Hazard said after Chelsea won the Europa League final against Arsenal that “I think it is a goodbye, but in football you never know”. At that point Real and Chelsea had not agreed on a fee but on Wednesday night they did with the announcement set to follow in the next few days. The two clubs are now preparing the contracts to be signed.

The 28-year-old Belgian will leave Stamford Bridge after seven hugely successful years at the club, winning the Premier League twice, one FA Cup and two Europa League titles.

The Chelsea manager, Maurizio Sarri, who is also expected to depart, said after the game against Arsenal that he had known about Hazard’s desire to leave for some time. “As you know, Hazard is a wonderful player, but you have to spend two or three months to understand him as a man,” he said. “But when you are able to understand him as a man, he’s a wonderful man. I knew Eden wanted to leave. But I wanted to respect his decision.”

Hazard had one year left on his contract and ruled out joining another English club in the buildup to the Europa League final, saying: “No chance, no chance. I am a Blue. It means a lot to me. I cannot play for another club in this country.”

*Neymar⚡ Ruled Out of Copa America🙆*

Neymar has been ruled out of Brazil's 2019 Copa America campaign after rupturing ankle ligaments in a friendly against Qatar on Wednesday.

The Paris Saint-Germain star started in a front three alongside Richarlison and Gabriel Jesus as Brazil began preparations for this summer's South American tournament.

But Neymar was forced out after just 21 minutes after suffering an apparent right ankle injury in a tackle.

The Brazil star was seen crying on the bench after suffering the injury and was helped down to the dressing room with the assistance of team personnel.

Neymar was replaced by Everton Soares in the Brazil lineup and the CBF has confirmed Neymar has suffered a twisted ankle.

*CAF Champions League Final to be Replayed😳*

The second leg of the African Champions League final will be replayed after the original fixture was abandoned and the match awarded to Esperance of Tunisia when Wydad Casablanca left the pitch following a disputed decision.

The Confederation of African Football’s executive committee, meeting in Paris on the fringes of the Fifa congress, decided on Wednesday to restage the match at a neutral ground in a decision that could spark an immediate legal challenge.

Wydad Casablanca refused to play on after having a 59th-minute effort disallowed in the return leg of the final in Tunis last Friday.

The VAR system was not working and after a delay of almost two hours the match was awarded to the home side Esperance, who were handed the trophy and winners’ medals.

The first leg in Casablanca on 25 May ended 1-1 and Esperance were 1-0 up in the return a week later when Wydad thought they had equalised, only for the referee to signal for offside.

That sparked protests that continued for around 90 minutes before the game was eventually called off in scenes that bordered on the farcical, with even the Caf president, Ahmad Ahmad, coming down to the side of the pitch to try and resolve the matter without success.

No official announcement, or explanation for the decision, was immediately made by Caf. But committee members and the two clubs confirmed the decision.

Esperance are expected to appeal against the ruling, club officials said on Wednesday.

*AFCON🏆: Tragedy Overshadows ZIM Qualification😟

*

The death of a supporter overshadowed Zimbabwe's qualification for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations on Sunday.

Zimbabwe's FA said a fan was killed in a stampede outside the national stadium in Harare before their final Group G match against Congo-Brazzaville.

Despite the tragedy, the qualifier went ahead with Zimbabwe winning 2-0 to seal their place at Egypt 2019.

The Democratic Republic of Congo also qualified from the group with a 1-0 win over Liberia in Kinshasa.

Zimbabwe finished top of Group G with DR Congo second, two points adrift.

Liberia and Congo-Brazzaville - who were both in contention at the start of the day - were eliminated.

*💫Messi's Attitude Questioned by Argentina🇦🇷 Legend*

Barcelona talisman Lionel Messi has been accused of having a “different attitude” when representing Argentina, with Daniel Passarella not surprised by international struggles.

Messi has since returned to the squad, but saw his first game back end in a humbling 3-1 defeat to Venezuela.

His presence failed to inspire those around him, while he was unable to replicate the heroics which have delivered another 39 goals at club level this season.

At 31 years of age he has 129 caps to his name and 65 goals for the Albiceleste.

Former Argentina captain Passarella believes that is because Messi does not feel as comfortable or confident when representing his nation.

The 1978 World Cup winner said of an iconic countryman: "He's a great player who can give a lot to any team.

"But when he plays for Barcelona he has a different attitude.

"He's better there.

"Sometimes these things happen.

"You play well for a team and they love you, but you don't feel at ease and something doesn't fit.

"I don't know what it is, but it should be something you feel inside."

*Mourinho🔈: Zidane the Right Man for Real Madrid👑 Job*

Jose Mourinho has said that he believes Zinedine Zidane is the right man for the Real Madrid managerial position.

Zidane was re-appointed as Madrid's head coach earlier this month, just 10 months after he had resigned from the same position. The Frenchman replaced Santiago Solari, who himself had replaced Julen Lopetegui earlier in the 2018-19 campaign.

After Solari's dismissal, many tipped Mourinho to return to the Santiago Bernabeu after he had been sacked as Manchester United boss in December.

And Mourinho himself has now said that the Blancos made the right call, adding that the Frenchman is just getting started in his managerial career despite what he has already achieved.

"I do not think we can talk about a career for him yet," Mourinho said of Zidane on Canal Plus.

"But in a very short time, he did what no one had done before, that is winning three consecutive Champions Leagues".

"Now he is starting a new step in his career. He has to build a team, he has to make choices, buy players, sell them. He has to train them, give them his philosophy of play.

"I think he's probably the best person for this club."

Belgium🇧🇪 Win Marks Hazard's 100th Cap

*

Eden Hazard marked his 100th international appearance with a goal as he helped Belgium to a comfortable 2-0 victory over Cyprus in Nicosia on Sunday to extend their winning start to Euro 2020 qualifying.

Much of the build-up focused on Chelsea star Hazard due to the significance of becoming only the third Belgian to reach a century of caps and he did not disappoint, leading the way as Belgium added to Thursday's 3-1 win over Russia.

Hazard gave the visitors an early lead with a typically tidy finish for his 30th in a Belgium shirt and Michy Batshuayi doubled the advantage eight minutes later.

The visitors never looked in danger of relinquishing their lead as Roberto Martinez's men secured an early three-point cushion at the top of Group I.

🇩🇪Germany Triumph in Thrilling Netherlands🇳🇱 Clash

Nico Schulz scored a superb last-minute winner as Germany survived a Netherlands fightback in Amsterdam to earn a gripping 3-2 victory in Group C of Euro 2020 qualifying.

Germany coach Joachim Low named a side without a striker but goals from wingers Serge Gnabry and Leroy Sane, symbols of their new generation, established a 2-0 half-time lead.

Memphis Depay recorded a goal and an assist as Netherlands came from behind after the interval to seemingly claim a point at the Johan Cruijff ArenA on Sunday.

Germany, though, earned revenge for last year's 3-0 Nations League defeat against Ronald Koeman's side, when wide man Schulz got forward to finish brilliantly with his weaker right foot.

*Record Italian🇮🇹 Crowd Watch Juventus Women👩*

A week after the world record for the highest attendance at a women's game was set, a league record in Italy was also broken.

Juventus Women played for the first time at the club's Allianz Stadium on Sunday and a total of 39,027 people turned out to see the league leaders beat second-placed Fiorentina 1-0.

That beat the previous record attendance for a women's club match in Italy of 14,000 spectators.

Defending champions Juventus, who normally play their matches at the club's training centre in Vinovo, extended their advantage at the top of the Serie A table to four points over Fiorentina in second and are now seven clear of third-place AC Milan.

Last week, a total of 60,739 people were present at Atletico Madrid's Wanda Metropolitano Stadium as the hosts lost 2-0 to Barcelona.

*RB Leipzig 1 Bayern Munich 1 (aet, 4-5 pens): Ulreich denies Werner on night of spot-kick drama

There was penalty drama aplenty at the Red Bull Arena on Wednesday as Bayern Munich reached the last 16 of the DFB-Pokal thanks to a 5-4 shoot-out win over 10-man RB Leipzig.

After nine successful kicks, Timo Werner - who started on the bench - saw his weak penalty to the right saved low down by Sven Ulreich, who had come in for some criticism since replacing the injured Manuel Neuer as Bayern's number one.

The shoot-out followed a highly controversial 1-1 draw, which saw referee Felix Zwayer change his mind in awarding Leipzig a first-half penalty before giving the home side a soft spot-kick in the second period, either side of Naby Keita's dismissal for two cautions.

Emil Forsberg converted from 12 yards but Bayern were soon level through Thiago Alcantara and after the extra 30 minutes produced no further goals, the visitors kept their cool to join holders Borussia Dortmund in the draw.
