There have been some reports going on that Gistsala is a scam but this seemed to be a mission to dent their image but can this be judged with some of their claims

Corps members killed in car crash, traveled without permission – NYSC

The Katsina State Coordinator, National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, Alhaji Ahidjo Yahaya said that the three corps members killed in last Sunday’s ghastly motor accident  traveled without  permission. Some others were injured in the accident.
This was as he warned corps members fond of traveling without permission to desist as traveling without permission attracts punishment.
The coordinator gave the warning during the swearing in ceremony of the orientation course for the 2019 Batch B Stream II corps members numbering about 1,502 (621 males and 881 females) deployed to the state.
Yahaya said the punishment could be in form of extension of service year or remobilization (repeat of the service year).
He said on it part in the state is to write the report and send to the headquarters where they would decide the punishment.
According to him, “Most of the journies by the corps members, 60% or 70% are done without permission. And we have been warning them and we would continue to warn them.
“Traveling without obtaining permission is there in the Act establishing the NYSC since 1973, it was amended and it is still there. There are various punishment for various offences. It is there in the Bylaw. It depends on days you spent. It can lead to extension of service year, remobilization (repeat the service year), it depends on the gravity of the offence that you commit. There are various offences viz a vis there punishment. They are there in the bylaw.
“The last Sunday’s ghastly motor accident involving our corps members traveling to Funtua was not with permission. They went to Funtua without permission,” the state coordinator said.
It would be recalled that a ghastly motor accident involving 12 corps members in a vehicle carrying the inscription “National Association of Catholic Corps members” and on their way to attend a mass wedding in Funtua area of the state left three dead on the spot while nine sustaining degrees of injuries.
The state coordinator said less than five of the corps members were still receiving treatment at the hospital while arrangements are on top gear for the burial rites of the three who lost their lives in the accident.
“We have bought three caskets and they are there in the General hospital. We would be conveying them to their various homes by Saturday for their burial. We are footing the expenses of the burial arrangements. We are sending a powerful delegations which includes Senior officials of the NYSC and Senior officials from the Catholic from Bishop Kuka to accompany the corpses to the various destinations as we have also made arrangements with our other colleagues in those places to join them and receive the corpses while we stay back to take care of those in the hospital.
“All corps members were insured by insurance company. So any corps members who died during service year, the family or next of kin will be given N1million,” Yahaya said.
The State Coordinator however said the deceased corps members were from Ebonyi, Imo and Delta states respectively.
Meanwhile, declaring the orientation course open, the Katsina State Governor, Aminu Bello Masari represented by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Youth and Social Development, Hussaini Dangani called on the corps members to shun corruption, other social vices to embrace integrity and be change agents.

Six suspected fake corps members arrested

Six suspected fake youth corps members have been arrested at the ongoing registration for National Youth Service Corps exercise at the Katsina State orientation camp.
The state NYSC Coordinator, Alhaji Ahidjo Yahaya who confirmed this in a statement made available to newsmen in Katsina said that the suspects were caught with forged call-up letters and fake degree certificates.

Yahaya confirmed that two of the suspects were female while the other four were male.
He said that two of the suspects were caught through intelligent report received from the office of the NYSC Director-General, Brig.-Gen. Shuaibu Ibrahim.
“I got a security report from the DG that two ladies were carrying fake certificates.
“Based on that, we set out a security network to trap them and they were arrested.
“The two suspects had confessed to the offence,” he said.
According to him, the other four suspects were detected during the camp registration of corps members deployed in the state under 2019 Batch B Stream II.
Yahaya said that all the suspects would be arraigned in the camp court from where they will be decamped and handed over to the police for prosecution.
“Before the opening of the orientation camps, the DG issued a series of warnings to members of the public not to go to the NYSC camp with fake results.
“But these people ignored the warning and decided to come to the camp with fake degree results. What a shame!” he said.

*Men in California Oversaw a Romance Scam That Targeted Women Worldwide, Feds Say*

In March 2016, a man claiming to be a US Army captain stationed in Syria reached out to a Japanese woman on an international site for digital pen pals.

Within weeks, their relationship grew into an internet romance with the man sending daily emails in English that she translated via Google. The man who called himself Terry Garcia asked for money -- lots of it -- from the woman identified as FK in federal court documents. Over 10 months, she sent him a total of $200,000 that she borrowed from friends, her ex-husband and other relatives to make her love interest happy.

But in reality, Garcia did not exist. It was all an international online scam ran by two Nigerian men in the Los Angeles area with the help of associates in their home country and other nations, federal officials say.

And Thursday, US prosecutors charged 80 people -- mostly Nigerians -- in the widespread conspiracy that defrauded at least $6 million from businesses and vulnerable elderly women.

Of those, 17 people have been arrested in the US so far and federal investigators are trying to track down the rest in Nigeria and other nations.

What to do to show support to HIV patients

The most important thing that you can do is to _not treat them differently_ from others. HIV positive individuals can live full and healthy lives these days, if they take their medication (ART) regularly. You must encourage your partner to start ART. For this, it could be helpful if you offered to accompany them to the doctor. Once they have started ART, you must encourage them to continue with it. ART can have some side effects, some of which can be unpleasant. However, ART is very effective and it should be taken regularly. You should offer emotional support as well. You must encourage them to engage in safe sex practices and use a condom each time they have sex. This will help prevent transmission of the virus.

Outages also hit neighbouring provinces, home to tens of millions more.

The disruption began at midday on Sunday local time (05:00 GMT), and power was slowly being restored nine hours on.

*Sowore: Buhari Breaks🗣 Silence on Revolution Protest, Sends💬 Message to Sponsors*

President Muhammadu Buhari has urged sponsors of Global Coalition for Security and Democracy in Nigeria, which planned a “Revolution Now” protest for Monday, to identify themselves and lead the campaign or lose the right to call themselves leaders.

This is coming after Omoyele Sowore, the convener of #RevolutionNow Protests, was picked up at his apartment in the early hours of Saturday.

Reacting, Buhari in a statement issued in Abuja on Sunday by Garba Shehu, Senior Special Assistant to the President (Media & Publicity), called on all those who seek to use and hide behind everyday citizens to attain power through undemocratic and violent means, which has been alluded, to come out clearly and be identified.

He said they should lead their march in person, stressing that only then will they begin to have the right to call themselves leaders before the people of Nigeria.

The statement reads, “the President and his administration respect and uphold the right of every Nigerian to peaceful protest and civil campaign – whether to raise awareness on issues, and even oppose the government, noting that it is the inalienable right of all citizens of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to do so.
“There is, however, a difference between peaceful call to protest and incitement for a revolution.
“The organisation championing this planned action is not fronted by any serious public faces. We call on the sponsors and organisers to have the decency to come forward and make their identity known – out of respect to all Nigerians – so that Nigerians can be fully aware in whose name this “revolution” is being proposed and who the beneficiaries may be.

“Less than six months ago, Nigeria held simultaneous presidential and parliamentary elections. Both contests were won resoundingly by President Muhammadu Buhari and his All-Progressives Congress party. The campaign was observed, and results were confirmed by international election monitoring groups and observers. The result was even contested by the losing presidential candidate and his party in Court."

*Herdsmen Make Fresh🔊 Demands from Government*

A Fulani socio-cultural association, Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, Bauchi State chapter, has appealed to the state government to establish additional earth dams and expand grazing reserve areas in the state.

The state chairman of the association, Alhaji Muhammadu Hussaini, made the appeal when he interacted with reporters in Bauchi Sunday.

He said, “The additional earth dams and expansion of grazing reserve areas will curtail the clashes between farmers and cattle herdsmen and it will reduce movement of Fulani from one place to another in search of water and grazing reserve.”

Hussaini said all the cattle routes were taken over by modern roads and houses built by government and individuals with no replacement, an action he said puts herdsmen in difficult position.

He asked the state government to provide them with subsidized cotton seed for their cows, adding that “it’s very important presently the sack of the cotton seed is being sold between N3,500 to N4, 000 and if government subsidized it Fulani will buy it between N1,500 to N2,000 and this will make them stay in one place and educate their children”.

The chairman identified shortage of teachers in Fulani nomadic schools as one their major problems and advised government to employ more teachers and supervise them to ensure that they are attending to the schools regularly instead of attending the school once in a week as has been happening in many nomadic schools.

He thanked the Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir for pledging to implement the newly-introduced Ruga programme by the Federal government, and assured him of their support towards the success of the exercise.

Hussaini advised the government to emulate Jigawa State government by demarcating 50 meters at cattle route from the main road.

*Revolution: No Amount👎 of Protest Can Change Buhari – Pastor Giwa*

The Senior Pastor of the Awaiting The Second Coming Of Jesus Christ Gospel Church, Pastor Adewale Giwa, on Monday said Nigerians would have reasons to glorify God after the exit of President Muhammadu Buhari.

Giwa, who stated this in a statement to DAILY POST on Monday, described Buhari as someone with a strong-mind and urged Nigerians to pray and endure the hard times they are currently passing through.

“Ahab was the son of King Omri, a former military commander who had taken over the throne after laying siege to Tirzah. Omri was a wicked ruler and he taught his son, Ahab his evil ways.

“After Omri had passed away, Ahab took what he had learned from his father and put it into practice while he ruled Israel. At one point during Ahab’s rule, his wife Jezebel was killing God’s prophets. King Ahab didn’t care about what his wife was doing because he was worshiping Baal.

“Ahab died after reigning for 22 years. The evil and atrocities he committed spoke after his death.

“Buhari is mentally tough and resolute about his ideals. There is nothing anybody can do about it until he vacates the office.

“No amount of protests could change Buhari’s mind. However, I have a message for him.

“Buhari and members his people should know that nothing stays the same, it all gets crushed, it all gets broken, it all passes with time. Only the moment you’re in has any meaning.

“History will judge everyone accordingly. Certainly, it is better to avoid pain, but you don’t get out of life without pain, either physical, emotional or spiritual.

“Nigerians should hold on to God, and this time shall pass. A nation that forgets its past has no future. We won’t forget this time and this time shall end soon,” said Giwa.

*Boko Haram: What Review🚗 of Auno Gate Closing Time⏱ Has Done – Drivers*

Long distance drivers on Yola, Maiduguri and Abuja, Maiduguri route Sunday commended the Borno state governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum and the GOC 7 division Nigeria Army, Major General Abdulmalik Biu, for their prompt response to the plight of travellers as well as drivers plying the Maiduguri, Damaturu road by reviewing the closing time of the Auno gate from 4:00pm to 6:00pm.

A driver with the Adamawa Sunshine, who identify himself as Modibo Umar, told DAILY POST that rate of accident due to speed to meet up with time of closure has drastically reduced following the review of the time.

“We usually leave Adamawa at 6:00 am, but because of the distance and checkpoints, driver always move on top speed in order to meet up. This has cause a lot of accidents and so many lives have been lost. But with the review of time now following the visit of the Borno state governor, drivers are moving within speed limit and there has not been cases of accident as before,” he said.

Another driver with the Borno Express, Malam Abubakar said checkpoints along the road where drivers have to wait in queue for ten and sometimes twenty minutes have been an issue for them meeting with the time of closure at Auno gate prior to the review of time.

“We thank all who speak out to move the governor to action and we thank the GOC also for given the order to review the time. We lost some of our drivers and passengers because of speed so that the gate is not closed before they arrive. Today, we are very happy with the new development. I just arrive with my passengers about 5:30pm when I check my time and the gate is wide open. The passengers too were very happy.” Abubakar said.
