*Ramos Sets New Record in 🇪🇸Spain's Win Over Faroe Islands

Sergio Ramos has set a new international record in Spain's 4-1 victory over the Faroe Islands in Friday's European Championship qualifying clash.

The Real Madrid defender went into the game tied with former Spain and Blancos team-mate Iker Casillas in international wins, with 121 since making his debut for the Roja back in 2005.

And with Friday's victory he now sits out on his own with 122 victories in 164 appearances, setting a new benchmark in the history of international football.

Ramos himself set Spain on the way to victory, opening the scoring with a goal after just five minutes.

Jesus Navas widened the visitors' advantage to two goals shortly after, although the Faroes did hit back with their own strike on the half hour.

Any hopes of a famous upset, however, were short-lived. Teitur Gestsson netted past his own keeper to restore Spain's two-goal lead before Jose Gaya swooped for his side's fourth of the evening.

Friday's win is Spain's fourth consecutive international victory, having previously dispatched Bosnia & Herzegovina, Norway and Malta in successive outings.
