*You Made Money Through Illegal🤐 Means – Buhari’s Camp Hits Atiku Again*

The Director of Media for the Buhari Campaign Organisation, Mr. Festus Keyamo (SAN), has alleged that the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar made money through illegal means and cheating the system.

He said Atiku was running private businesses as a customs officer in contravention of public service rules.

Keyamo also claimed that Atiku’s only successful business was Integrated Logistics Services Nigeria Limited, popularly known as INTEL.

He told Punch said, “Firstly, the myth about Atiku’s business acumen is one of the biggest and fattest lies ever sold to Nigerians. He has never run a successful business. He only has one company, which is a cash cow through which he invests in other things and that company is known as INTELS.

“He acquired shares in INTELS in 1982 when he was still a customs officer which was in clear violation of the code of conduct for public officers where he acquired shares in a company that had something to do with the customs and government.

“The company is not run in a competitive manner but a monopolistic manner where all other persons are totally shut out. All governments in this country until now had been compromised by this company until now.”

He said Atiku’s university ran on public funds. He challenged Atiku to prove that the money used in running the institution was not government’s own.

*⚰Plateau Killings: Group Calls🗣 for the Withdrawal of Military*

Sequel to the resurgence of violence in some communities of Plateau State, a group under the aegis of Plateau Indigenous Christian Ministers’ Forum (PIMFO), has called for the withdrawal of military in the state and be replaced by an International Peace Team.

The group equally called for the prosecution of those arrested in connection with the attacks.

PIMFO through its Chairman, Rev. Tongsmangs T. Dasbak said, “Justice for all is a human right issue and it must be seen to be done without fear or favour.

Dasbak said, “To this end there is a need, an urgent one for that matter, to recall all the military personnel back to their barracks, or they should be replaced by an International Peace Team that will be credible and unbiased.

According to the Chairman, “All those caught and paraded or implicated /indicted so far should be brought to book.

“Whatever evidence(s) Lt. General Tukur Buratai has against the elders of Plateau, whoever they are should have been better handled in the court of Law rather than making conclusive statements.

According to him, there are claims in some quarters that some elders were aiding criminality in some communities of Plateau.

He further explained that PIMFO being, a religious leaders’ forum, “abhors and condemns every form of violence and the taking of innocent lives extra-judicially.

“Therefore, when efforts are being made to investigate such atrocities, it is commendable, if carried out with the best of intentions and employing acceptable procedures.

“The investigation into the reported disappearance of General Alkali (Rtd) by the army must involve the Police, the judiciary, the Latya/Dura community and possibly international bodies to ensure that the truth comes to light.

“There are acceptable international best practices in matters of this nature which should be followed.

“We have noticed the ongoing investigation in Dura/Latya with grave concern; the unacceptable molestation of innocent citizens some of who were just passersby, how they are being meted with all kinds of inhuman torture by the operatives of the Army”, he lamented.

*Zanu-PF Members‍ Want Kazembe Removed as Mashonaland Central Chairperson*

Speaking during an inter-district meeting held in Mt Darwin last weekend to thank the people for voting for Zanu-PF, Bindura South legislator Kenneth Musanhi revealed that there are some party members that want Mashonaland Central provincial chairperson Kazembe kazembe to be replaced.

Musanhi criticised the people who are advocating for Kazembe’s removal urging Zanu-PF members not to listen to rumours being spread by Kazembe’s rivals. Said Musanhi:

"Let us not follow people who behave like touts who go from leader to leader when they are broke telling them that this leader is bad and should go. We will not move forward if we listen to such utterances. This causes divisions in the party. I want to thank the provincial chairman (Cde Kazembe Kazembe) for steering our party to a convincing election victory. I urge you not to listen to rumours which are being spread by some malicious people. Why should people want to remove a chairman who did such a wonderful job like this? Let us focus on where we want to go in terms of development. We don’t want to watch other provinces developing while we are busy fighting, so let us unite."

*Mnangagwa😒 Just Like Mugabe: ZCTU on 2⃣ Percent Tax*

Labour body the Zimbabwe Congress of Trade Unions (ZCTU) has accused President Emmerson Mnangagwa of being the same as his predecessor former President Robert. This comes after Mnangagwa said that the 2 per cent tax on all money transfers which was announced by Finance Minister Mthuli Ncube was a necessary pain. The ZCTU has planned to demonstrate against the tax tomorrow, but the police have banned the protest citing the cholera outbreak.

Speaking to NewsDay, ZCTU president Peter Mutasa said,

"Mnangagwa is taking from his creator Mugabe. If you look at the process of policy making, this arbitrary action has no place in modern economies and modern states…In modern states, the government should start with the green paper and white paper and invite stakeholders for their input. Had they done this with the monetary policy, we would not be where we are. Nothing has changed and he has failed dismally, but he has the chance to redeem himself and he can do this by removing this policy."

*🛣Ex-Zinara Boss Jailed⛓ for Criminal Abuse of Office*

Former Zimbabwe National Road Administration (Zinara) acting chief executive Moses Juma, who was facing criminal abuse of office charges, was yesterday jailed for an effective two years. Juma was first arrested in 2016, but was released from police custody at the instigation of then Vice President Phelekezela Mphoko.

The former VP allegedly stormed Avondale Police Station and ordered the release of Juma and Davison Norupiri.
The duo was later rearrested and Norupiri was made an accomplice witness.

Representing the prosecution, Mr Chris Mutangadura urged the court to send Juma to jail, saying he committed a serious offence.

He said such cases were prevalent and a deterrent sentence was necessary.
Mr Mutangadura said with the new dispensation calling for zero tolerance to corruption and related criminal activities, a strong message should be send to would-be offenders.

“Your Worship, the new dispensation is now viewing corruption as a cancer that needs to be exorcised from the society and that the penalty must deter would be offenders,” he said.
“A clear message has to be sent out that crime does not pay.”

Magistrate, Mr Hoseah Mujaya concurred with the State, saying corruption should not be treated as a normal game.
He sentenced Juma to 30 months behind bars before suspending six months on condition of good behaviour.

Juma was convicted after a full trial. Mr Mutangadura proved that sometime in 2014, Zinara had a tax obligation with the Zimbabwe Revenue Authority of $15 418 133, 61 and as a result the tax authority garnished $5 714 587, 25, leaving a balance of $9 703 546,36.

A report was made to the Zinara board by management for guidance to reduce the tax obligations. The Zinara board tasked the finance committee to engage a tax consultancy firm to help reduce the obligations.
