*Nigerians Will๐Ÿ˜ฑ ‘Shock’ Buhari, Atiku –๐Ÿ”Š Presidential Candidate, Fasua*

Presidential candidate of Abundant Nigeria Renewal Party, ANRP, Tope Fasua, has said Nigerians are ready to spring surprises against the candidates of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Muhammadu Bubari, and the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar, in the 2019 presidential poll.

Fasua, who is currently on a trip overseas, stated this on Tuesday in a telephone interview with DAILY POST.

He said despite the conflicting predictions by various US think-tank groups in favour of Buhari and Atiku, the hardships in the country had pushed Nigerians to the point where they were willing to make revolutionary decisions with their votes.

The ANRP presidential candidate also said that the nation’s poor records on key development indices were brought about by the activities of the duo while acting in their capacities as sitting president and erstwhile vice-president, respectively.

His words: “I will say it is sad that these international agencies (the Economist, HSBC, and USIP) are pushing Nigerians to choose between the status quo, and the status quo ante.

“None of these bodies mean well for Nigerians because these are the same people who have effectively wrecked the Nigerian society and economy. I believe they are smarter than making such calls.

“The decision is left for Nigerians to take and I believe there will be upsets and surprised because we have reached an inflection point at which a revolutionary decision should be taken.

“Nigerian economy is dead today and disunity has never been this bad. We are officially the poorest nation on earth and the most unequal with 13.2million children walking around all over the nayion and especially from the zone where the two characters they are pushing hails from."

*Nigerian Govt๐Ÿ“ฒ Goes Digital on Public✨ Procurement*

The Bureau of Public Procurement, BPP, has said it will now utilize digital technology in all procurement in order to deepen its current reforms.

BPP’s Director General, Mamman Ahmadu, stated this on Tuesday at a database workshop organized by the bureau in Abuja for contractors, consultants and service providers (CCSP).

He explained that the digitization of Nigeria’s public procurement process would allow for more participation, efficiency, and transparency toward ensuring the country achieved desired results.

“Nigeria has also joined the rest of the world to ensure that the best global practices in public procurement process is strictly adhered by going digital in order to allow for more participation, efficiency and transparency towards ensuring that the public procurement reform receives the needed attention and delivers ultimately for the good of the country,” Ahmadu said.

He further said that the Public Procurement Act (PPA, 2007) prescribed the need for the regular categorisation of data on CCSPs in order to enhance specialization, high performance and reduction in the cost of tendering in public procurement.

Speaking also, the Minister of State for Works, Suleiman Hassan Zarma, stressed the critical nature of the latest categorisation matrix for CCSPs; adding that it will not only allow for a more robust participation of all stakeholders but also give room for specialization.

He also mentioned the need to ensure local contractors are also considered in the matrix due to their basic role in the infrastructural development process of the country.

*You Are๐Ÿ‘€ an Impostor – ASUU Fires๐Ÿšท Acclaimed Chairman, Raheem*

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Ibadan Zone has disowned one Dr. U. A. Raheem for claiming to be the Chairman of the University of Ilorin chapter of the union.

Zonal Coordinator of the union, Dr. Ade Adejumo in a statement made available to DAILY POST on Tuesday, added that Raheem was not even a member of the union, let alone being a chapter chairman.

Adejumo in the statement entitled “UNILORIN and ASUU strike: U. A. Raheem is an imposter”, described the acclaimed chairman as a “serial plagiarist and shameless imposter with proclivity for parading himself to be what he actually is not both in fact and logic”.

Adejumo said, “The Ibadan zone of ASUU is compelled to respond to the irresponsible vituperation of one U. A. Raheem on the state of the current national strike embarked upon by our Union. We would have ignored the rantings of Raheem as a mere distractive irritant, but because records have to be put straight once again about the character of the person in question.

“As a result of the above, let it be put on record that U. A. Raheem is not known to our Union as its UNILORIN Branch Chairperson. To start with, Raheem is not a member of ASUU, talk less of his being the Chairperson of the Union in UNILORIN as being claimed. The Chairperson of ASUU UNILORIN known to us is Dr. Kayode Afolayan who has since joined the strike with all our members loyal to the Union.

“Raheem latest outburst is never surprising to us. He is only living up to his ungracious pedigree as a fraudulent character. Here is a serial plagiarist and shameless imposter with proclivity for parading himself to be what he actually is not both in fact and logic."
