*The Media Is Busy🛫 Saying I Travel a Lot, But Look at What I Bring:🗣 ED*

President Emmerson Mnangagwa has claimed that his trips are yielding positive results.

The president has been criticised for his globetrotting behaviour which some quarters of society have likened to that of his predecessor, Robert Mugabe.

Mnangagwa has come under fire particularly for hiring luxurious planes “when the country’s economy is at its knees”.

Addressing the ZANU PF’s Women’s League yesterday, Mnangagwa defended his travels yesterday saying they have unlocked doors for partnership.

He said:

_The media is busy saying I travel a lot. But look (at) what I bring. On Monday or so, we shall be receiving more medicines from the Arabs. They are giving us for free._

The luxurious jet Mnangagwa has been hiring, the luxury Royal Jet A6-RJX, is believed to cost between US$10 000 and US$30 000 per hour. News Day observes that the president has since July the 6th this year more than seven times. This brings the total expenses to about US$1 million.

Some analysts have argued that the president could save the money and invest in other bleeding sectors.

The opposition MDC which is not amused has called for investigations into the trips. MDC secretary for international relations, Gladys Hlatywayo, said that it boggles the mind to think that it is actually happening considering the state of the economy. She said:

A thorough investigation must be made into these trips, something is just not adding up and there could be more than meets the eye!

*Ghana🇬🇭 Meteorological Agency Meets👉 ISO International Standards*

The Ghana Meteorological Agency (GMA) has been certified with the ISO9001: 2015 by the Certification Group in the United Kingdom (UK), making it the best weather forecast institution in West Africa.

Being recognised officially with ISO9001: 2015 means that the GMA’s systems have been independently and impartially assessed and audited and met the defined requirements of ISO International Standards.

ISO Standards are recognised internationally and are used as a respected and trusted bench mark for standardising services, processes, regulations and productions all over the world.

At a media briefing in Accra, the Lead Auditor from the UK Certification Group’s International Register, Mr Dean Moriarty, said the recognition would allow the operations of the GMA to be accepted internationally.

He said the group from the UK undertook two weeks of intensive auditing and quality management exercises and went through documents, reports and also examined other materials of the GMA in accordance with international standards.

In addition, Mr Moriarty said a series of surveys were conducted including checks and interviews with the general public which confirmed that the GMA followed the due processes of ISO9001: 2015 standards.

A herd of five elephants has strayed from a migration route in Kenya's Rift Valley region, Kenya's Wildlife Service (KWS) said.

The herd was on its way south from Laikipia to Mau, some 244 km (150 miles) away, but went 300km west to Timboroa forest.

KWS said its team was dealing with the situation and warned people to exercise caution when approaching the area.

*Kenya🇰🇪 Launches🎉 Biggest Wind Farm in Africa*

Kenya formally launched Africa's biggest wind power plant, a mammoth project in a gusty stretch of wilderness that already provides nearly a fifth of the country's energy needs.

The $680-million (600 million euro) scheme, a sprawling 365-turbine wind farm on the eastern shores of Lake Turkana, is delivering 310 megawatts of renewable power to the national grid of East Africa's most dynamic economy.

The largest private investment in Kenya's history, the Lake Turkana Wind Power project was beset with delays and took nearly a decade to rise from the arid landscape 600 kilometres (372 miles) north of Nairobi.

*Nigerians Jittery as Trump Begins⚠ Raid of Illegal Immigrants*

There are indications that some Nigerians may be affected in the ongoing raids on undocumented aliens ordered by the United States President, Mr Donald Trump.

It reported that ICE agents were targeting at least 2,000 immigrants for deportation across 10 major cities and could also sweep up immigrants who were not the initial targets.

The NYT recalled that Trump had on June 17 tweeted that the following week, ICE would begin removing "millions" of undocumented immigrants from the US.

A resident of Texas, who craved anonymity, said her Nigerian neighbour was invited for interrogation , but was quick to add that most Nigerians in the US were documented.

New Orleans is also on the list, but the city tweeted last week that US ICE said it would suspend operations through last weekend in areas hit by Tropical Storm Barry, which weakened to a tropical depression Sunday.

*'Mind-Man Climbs on Airplane✈ Wing Moments Before Take off in Lugo's

A man has been filmed climbing onto the wing of a passenger plane moments before takeoff.

The man, who’s since been arrested, was filmed at Nigeria’s busiest airport in the city of Lagos much to the horror of passengers on board Friday (local time).

Federal Aviation Authority of Nigeria spokeswoman Henrietta Yakubu said the Azman Air plane had been waiting for clearance from air traffic controllers.

She added it taxied back for a “thorough check” before departing for Port Harcourt about 600km southeast.

It was not clear how the man reached the plane or what his intention was.

However, passenger Otto Orondaam, who shared two videos of the incident with his 84,000 Instagram followers claims the man appeared from a bush.

One video shows the man on the wing while the other shows him sitting inside an engine.

“He looks like a mad person,” one man says.

Others are out of their seats, peering out the window as the man walks about and climbs atop the wing.
