Junior Pope: Late Nollywood Makeup Artist, Abigail Frederick, Buried In Akwa Ibom

The late Nollywood makeup artist, Abigail Fredrick, 24, has been laid to rest in her hometown in Ikot Udoma, Eket Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, on Monday.

Frederick was among the five film practitioners, including Junior Pope, who died when their boat capsized on the River Niger last Wednesday.

PUNCH Online reports that the Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno, instructed that her body be returned to the state for a proper burial after she was said to have been buried by the riverbank.

Following the governor's directive, her body was exhumed on Sunday, April 14.

A candle-light procession was also said to have been held in her honour.

A Facebook user, Ubong David, who shared pictures from the burial on Monday wrote, "Today, the late Abigail Frederick, the Nollywood makeup artist who tragically lost her life in the ill-fated boat mishap, has been laid to rest at the family compound in Ikot Udoma, Eket Local Government Area.

"The funeral service was conducted by the Church of Christ, Ikot Udoma, and was attended by various dignitaries, including the Eket Transition Committee Chairman, Akaniyene Tommey; Commissioner for Tourism, Charles Udoh; SA on Entertainment, Moses Eskor; Godfada Uko, members of the Eket Transition Committee, Nollywood actress, Eve Esin, the Nollywood community, friends, and sympathisers."

Suddenly you are now on the frontline of those saying that Pst Enenche embarrassed the woman that came for testimony in his Church and that the pastor should apologize.

You have gone online to search and you have discovered that the woman was not lying. Now you are calling out Enenche.

A good move which I support.

But,

you have not called out Odumeje for all the embarrassment he keeps giving to people suffering from life-threatening illnesses in which he not only embarrasses them but mocks them.

You did not even spare a moment to investigate the illness those coming to his church are narrating to find out how real or fake they are.

Instead, 

You see the videos as comedy and jokes. You share them and laugh. You ha- ha- ha- ha- on top of the pains of others.

I like your advocacy on calling out Enenche, but I hate your double standard.

The Charlatan called Odumeje

The Charlatan called Odumeje 

Odumeje is the only self-acclaimed prophet in present-day Nigeria that boldly epitomizes and embodies charlatanry even to the point of upgrading it to an enviable level. 

How is it funny that Odumeje will gather sick people in his "church", I mean people who are suffering and are in pain, he will put cameras on them, and make them disclose their health issues in public. . . then as they narrate their problems, Odumeje will make fun of it in his characteristic manner. .  .the videos will then be shared online and the rest of us will watch and use the video as comedy and joke...????

Someone should make this make sense to me. What did Odumeje give us to blind us from seeing all these for what it is? Something must be collectively wrong with all of us.

Okay, maybe you don't get the point. I want you to just simply stay calm and imagine that the woman in the video below is your mum, or your sister, or your daughter diagnosed with acute stomach cancer, and is being treated that way while others are laughing. Say the truth, will you still find the video funny?

I am guessing that it is acute gastrointestinal cancer she was trying to call. Take your time and google it. That woman is in severe pain. But what do we do, we convert the video to TikTok content, watermark our names on it boldly, and share it for fun.

For someone to be diagnosed with such sickness, and Odumeje's church is where she is taken to for a solution, it shows how evil the country you live in is and the fact that medical help is zero.

In medical ethics, there is dignity and privacy accorded to patients in matters of disclosing their medical condition to others. But Odumeje doesn't know that. Yet, you think it is a funny video.

In a serious country, when such cases come up publicly, people will be moved to see that the woman gets proper medical attention. Doctors watching the video will act. The government will intervene. 

But for us, it is a joke. . . 

And note: this video is just one out of many.

This is how you people keep fueling these people to make a mockery of your faith. 

Why did Odumeje not perform any of those theatrics during his London visit? Why did he convert what ought to be a church gathering of power and healing and prophecy as advertised to a music show with comedy?

The simple answer is that in Nigeria and Africa, anything goes. They know we don't have sense. They will insult us and insult our fathers, and we will answer,  "Thank you, sir!"
