*Nigerians Will😱 ‘Shock’ Buhari, Atiku –πŸ”Š Presidential Candidate, Fasua*

Presidential candidate of Abundant Nigeria Renewal Party, ANRP, Tope Fasua, has said Nigerians are ready to spring surprises against the candidates of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Muhammadu Bubari, and the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar, in the 2019 presidential poll.

Fasua, who is currently on a trip overseas, stated this on Tuesday in a telephone interview with DAILY POST.

He said despite the conflicting predictions by various US think-tank groups in favour of Buhari and Atiku, the hardships in the country had pushed Nigerians to the point where they were willing to make revolutionary decisions with their votes.

The ANRP presidential candidate also said that the nation’s poor records on key development indices were brought about by the activities of the duo while acting in their capacities as sitting president and erstwhile vice-president, respectively.

His words: “I will say it is sad that these international agencies (the Economist, HSBC, and USIP) are pushing Nigerians to choose between the status quo, and the status quo ante.

“None of these bodies mean well for Nigerians because these are the same people who have effectively wrecked the Nigerian society and economy. I believe they are smarter than making such calls.

“The decision is left for Nigerians to take and I believe there will be upsets and surprised because we have reached an inflection point at which a revolutionary decision should be taken.

“Nigerian economy is dead today and disunity has never been this bad. We are officially the poorest nation on earth and the most unequal with 13.2million children walking around all over the nayion and especially from the zone where the two characters they are pushing hails from."

*US MIDTERM ELECTIONS: Trump Touts 'Tremendous Success' after GOP Loses House *

Nate Silver in final midterm projections: 'Democrats need a couple of things to go wrong' to lose the House declared the results of Tuesday's midterm elections a "tremendous success," even as Democrats were projected to take control of the House.

"Tremendous success tonight. Thank you to all!" Trump tweeted as race calls were still pouring in.

The Republicans' loss of the House is a significant blow for the president, who will have to contend with a Democratic majority that is eager to place a check on his leadership.

But the White House has sought to to paint Tuesday's results as better than expected, pointing to the GOP's success in keeping control of the Senate and victories in a handful of key gubernatorial races.

*πŸ—³️ US MIDTERM ELECTIONS: Republicans will keep control of the Senate, while Democrats are in position to seize the House majority, AP projects*

Republicans will keep control of the Senate, while Democrats are in position to seize the House majority.

Rep. Kevin Cramer (R) has defeated Sen. Heidi Heitkamp (D-N.D.), the Associated Press has projected, blocking Democrats from gaining control of the Senate. Heitkamp, widely considered one of the most vulnerable Democrats up for reelection, drew both criticism and millions in donations after she voted against the confirmation of Brett M. Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court.

Democrats flipped House seats in Florida, Pennsylvania, Kansas and New York, putting them on a path to regaining the House majority that they lost in the 2010 election. A number of races in Virginia, Illinois and Michigan were still undecided.

*US MIDTERM ELECTIONS: First polls close as voters cite Trump and health care as key issues*

Polls have now closed in parts of Indiana and Kentucky — the beginning of the end for Tuesday’s momentous midterm elections.

The results of Tuesday’s election, only now beginning to trickle in, could bring significant changes to Washington after two years of Republican dominance: they could shift the balance of power in Congress, flip control of state capitols, and signal the strength of a Democrat-led backlash to President Trump.

Or not.

A strong Republican result on Tuesday could show that — despite his chaotic management style and divisive appeals to nationalism — Trump has remade the GOP in his own image, and solidified its hold on power.

Earlier on Tuesday, new polling showed that voters cited President Trump and health care were two of the most important factors as they chose their candidates in the midterm election, according to preliminary results from a Washington Post-Schar School survey of battleground districts.

More than four in 10 who cast early or absentee ballots or voted early Tuesday mentioned Trump or health care as the most important or second-most important factor for their vote, the preliminary results showed. The economy and immigration were close behind, receiving mention from over 3 in 10 voters in the results.

*πŸ—³️ US MIDTERM ELECTIONS: A Democratic House and a Republican Senate, but still some uncertainty, according to CNN Forecast*

The US 2018 campaign (mostly) comes to an end this Tuesday. If the polls and CNN forecasts are right, the Democrats and Republicans will each have something to be happy about.

Democrats are favored to take back the House, while Republicans are favored to maintain control of the Senate.

CNN final House forecast has Democrats earning 227 seats to the Republicans 208. That's a net gain of 32 seats from the 195 they hold right now. Democrats only need a net gain of 23 to win the 218 seats necessary for a majority.

But forecasts come with a margin of error. Specifically, the 95% confidence interval finds that Democrats could win as few as 207 seats (11 short of a majority) to 259, according to our latest estimate.

Make no mistake though, the House race is still close enough that Republicans could win.

The final Senate forecast is something else altogether. It has Republicans controlling 52 seats and Democrats (and Independents who caucus with them) holding 48 seats in the next Congress. If this forecast were exactly right, it would mean that Republicans would have a net gain of a seat since the last Congress.
