The first symptom of syphilis is a small painless sore on your genital area that appears about 3 weeks after infection. Many people don't notice this sore. The second symptom occurs several weeks later - a painless rash all over your body, after which you may be symptomless for years. Gonorrhea symptoms can appear 2 to 30 days after infection and could include cloudy discharge, painful urination, itching or pain in your genitals/abdomen, bleeding between periods, etc...but beware! 15% of all men, and 80% of all women who are infected can be symptomless for years. Both untreated gonorrhea and syphilis can cause serious permanent damage. If you are sexually active, get checked for STIs regularly, even if you don't have any symptoms!
