Adjustments
mean that we develop more acceptance of people and behaviour that we
usually dislike. It doesn't mean we lose our self-esteem but rather
don't lower their self-esteem because we value them.
Relationships
are two-sided efforts. The adjustments also need to be from both sides.
Conflicts usually happen when people fail to accommodate each other. If
you make a few adjustments to accommodate other people, not only does
your relationship become smooth but also be long-lasting.
Be
accommodating. In any relationship, we must remember that we are
dealing with a unique person. Their thoughts and opinions are not always
going to match with ours. At times, there will be differences. If we
want our relationship to work out, there has to be understanding from
both ends. If no one makes adjustments, the relationship is bound to
break, and if only one person makes adjustments, it is only a
compromised relationship.
