HIV is present in high concentrations in blood, semen, and vaginal secretions. HIV can be transmitted through unprotected sexual intercourse with an infected person. There are several factors which affect the transmission of HIV including viral load, presence of injuries on the genitalia, presence of other sexually transmitted infections, presence of ulcers or sores on the genitalia etc. To answer your specific question, HIV _can definitely_ be transmitted if you have unprotected sexual intercourse with a HIV positive woman during her “periods”. Whether it is transmitted or not is subject to the factors that I have described earlier.
