Oftentimes, I hear people say that ever since Adam accused God for giving him Eve as a wife, God no longer gives people a wife or husband.
Most of the time, that statement or argument is based on the fact that we are free moral agents, that we are responsible for our choices and decisions.
People that make this statement are either speaking from a place of ignorance or they don't really understand the concept of a surrendered life.
To say that God doesn't choose a wife or husband again for people is totally wrong.
God is still very much in the business of matching making His children. In fact, He is even the Best Matchmaker!
As a free moral agent, you have the right to choose the kind of woman or man you want to marry.
God will not hold you accountable for that because you are exercising your right. He will not violate your will without your permission.
Many people have been choosing their spouses by themselves and Heaven hasn't fallen. Some of them made the right choice and are enjoying their marriage, some made a bad choice and are regretting now.
People that are in this category are people that are yet to surrender their will to God.
If you have totally surrendered your life and will to God, then you don't have a choice even when it comes to choosing a spouse.
God will be the One to choose a wife or a husband for you. This is why I said that, God still chooses spouse for His children
You have a will of your own as a free moral agent, God also has a will.
I have said this before, if you want God to choose a spouse for you, then you will have to drop your own will because two wills cannot exist.
You have to remove that idol in your heart. That brother or sister you are eyeing, you have to remove them from your heart and become neutral and then trust God to bring the best for you, that's only when God chooses for you.
